You won't just throw your papers or other documents that contain your personal information into a bin. I only do it once every few months depending how much I use it.Bonsaii C220-A shredder is ideal for personal use. Just give it a try with one peice of paper and as you oil it you can hear the change. You can just hear the motor running less load and cleaner when you do oil it. Just keep an eye on the level, and you'll be fine with these. I had to pick out the pieces and take apart the motor mount to clear the rest. The smaller pieces jam things up from the bottom and stops it completely. I haven't had to oil the Omnitech one ever, and I could have sworn I saw something about not needing to? I'm not 100% certain as I bought it quite some time ago, and it's been running fine since. Just keep within the 12 page limit and watch out for thick envelopes / cardboard in the bunch. This Omnitech one chewed through a huge stack of papers without any problems. Oiling into the slot helps reduce friction of the shredding components and paper. My old Fellowes shredder which died needed to be oiled quite frequently or else it would overheat triggering the thermal sensor shutoff. Yes if you see the shredded paper level in the bin get closer to the top, empty it or else the little pieces get picked up when shredding new sheets.
